What EGREE makes, and who it is for

EGREE makes furniture for the two years in the middle: after a baby is too big to be changed on a bed and before a child is tall enough to use the room the way everybody else in it does. Three pieces, and each one closes a single gap in height.

What is in the range

A folding changing table on four lockable wheels, whose deck steps through four heights between 33.8 and 38.6 inches so that two adults of different heights can share it. A solid wood kitchen step stool with a rail on four sides and a platform that moves between 12, 16 and 20 inches, which is what turns one stool into three years of use. A potty training seat on an adjustable ladder that sits on the toilet already in the bathroom, folds flat and weighs a third of what a floor potty and a step weigh together.

Three is the whole range, and it is meant to be. There is no second changing table with a different badge, no toddler version of the stool, no colour-matched set. What varies is the finish: grey and light green on the table, natural, white and grey on the stool, blue on the seat.

How a page here is written

A card describes an object: what it measures, what it is rated to carry, what is in the box, what it costs. What a piece is like in your particular kitchen with your particular three-year-old is not something a catalogue can know, and this one leaves that question alone. None of these pages calls a piece safe, unbreakable or approved, and none of them says a piece was tested to a standard we did not see. Every one of those phrases is printed somewhere on the packaging of something in this range, and not one of them is ours to repeat.

Where a page has to say something about a child rather than about a measurement, it names the body whose job that is: the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which regulates baby changing products and publishes what a Children’s Product Certificate actually is, and the American Academy of Pediatrics, which publishes on changing table falls and on when toilet training usually starts. What each of them says is set out on the updates page rather than paraphrased into a promise here.

What we do not do

We do not take orders, hold stock, ship anything or handle a return. This site is the catalogue; the buying happens with our retail partner, and that is where a missing screw or a damaged panel is put right.

The one checkable thing we state about ourselves is the year, 2018, which makes this 8 years of building the same three things. Everything else worth knowing about a piece is on its page, and how the figures on those pages are kept current is set out on how we update the catalogue.
